As written in Revelation chapter 2
and chapter 3, Christ was aware of the sins in the seven
Churches located in Asia. He warns his followers to
repent. Additionally, those in the churches who repent
and overcome are promised rewards. Likewise, the
rebellious are told of their punishments.
Note: The angel of Christ sent to speak
his words, commands John to write to the leaders
(angels/messengers) of each church that existed during
the time period of John, so that they could get their
church in order.
John 6:37: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to
me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast
out.” Verse 38: “For I came down from heaven, not to do
mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
John 6:39: “And this is the Father's will which hath sent me,
that of all which he hath given me"
[The Servants of God] "I should lose
nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”
John 6:40: “And this is the will of him that sent me,
that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have
everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last
day.” The Father’s will is to raise up the
believers/followers of Christ, who lived during the time
period of the New Testament, those who endured, and who
remained in Christ until the end of their life. They
will be raised up again, in the last day, in the time
period of the last Kingdom, before Christ returns.
The gospel has not changed! The promises and
teachings of Christ which were delivered to the Gentiles
by Paul and Christ’s disciples remain in effect,
Colossians 1:25: “Whereof I”
[Paul]
“am made a minister, according to the dispensation
of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word
of God;”
Colossians 1:26: “Even the
mystery” [The Gentiles in Christ, see Acts
28:28] “which hath been
hid from ages and from generations,” [The
generations/time periods before Christ] “but now”
[The time of Paul’s ministry] “is made manifest to his saints:”
[The 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the
Most High]
Colossians 1:27: “To whom God would
make known" [See Acts 18:1, 4-6]
"what is the riches of the glory of this
mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the
hope of glory:”
Ephesians 3:6: “That the Gentiles should be fellow
heirs,” [Or joint heirs with Israel, see
Acts 13:44-48] “and of the same body,”
[Christ]
“and partakers of His promise” [New Jerusalem,
see the promises made to the seven churches in Asia, the
Gentiles, Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26-28
and Revelation 3:5, 21]
“in Christ
by the Gospel.”
The Church of Ephesus
Revelation 2:1: “Unto the angel"
[Messenger/leader] "of the
church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the
seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the
seven golden candlesticks;” Christ, see Revelation 1:12-13, 16.
Revelation 2:2: “I know thy works, and thy
labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which
are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles,
and are not, and hast found them liars:”
Revelation 2:3:
“And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast
laboured, and hast not fainted.”
Revelation 2:4: “Nevertheless I"
[Christ] "have somewhat against thee,
because thou hast left thy first love." The teachings of Christ.
Revelation 2:5: “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and
repent, and do the first works; or else I"
[Christ] "will come unto thee
quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place,”
[Destroy the church] “except thou repent.”
Revelation 2:6: “But this thou hast, that thou
hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.”
Revelation 2:7: “He"
[That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High]
"that hath an ear,"
[Understand the scriptures] "let him hear what the Spirit"
[Christ] "saith
unto the churches;" [Although the above statements
were made to the angel/leader of the church of Epesus, they are
warnings to the seven churches in Asia. Likewise, the promises
are for the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High.] "To
him that overcometh” [The men in the church that continue in
the faith of Christ, until the end of their life] “will I give to
eat of the tree of life,” [Christ will raise them up in the
last day, and they will receive the reward to eat of the tree of
life, see Revelation 22:2] “which is in the midst of the paradise of
God.” New Jerusalem, see
Revelation 21:1-4, 22:1-2.
The Church of Smyrna
Revelation 2:8: “And unto the angel"
[Messenger/leader]
"of the
church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the
last," [Christ, see Revelation 1:11]
"which was dead, and
is alive;" Christ, see Revelation 1:18.
Revelation 2:9: “I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty,"
[but thou art rich] "and I know the blasphemy of them which
say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”
Revelation 2:10: “Fear none of those things
which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of
you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have
tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will
give thee a crown of life.”
Revelation 2:11: “He"
[That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High]
"that hath an ear,"
[Understanding] "let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second
death.” They will reign with Christ a thousand years, see
Revelation 20:4, 6.
The second death is explained in Revelation 20:14-15.
Although the above statements were made to the angel/leader of
the church of Pergamos, they are warnings to the seven churches
in Asia. Likewise, the promises are for the 144,000/Servants of
God/Saints of the Most High.
The Church of Pergamos
Revelation 2:12: “And to the angel"
[Messenger/leader]
"of the
church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the
sharp sword with two edges;” Christ, see
Revelation 1:16.
Revelation 2:13: “I know thy works, and where thou dwellest,
even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and
hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was
my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan
dwelleth.”
Revelation 2:14: “But I have a few things against thee,
because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam,
who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of
Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit
fornication.”
Revelation 2:15: “So hast thou
also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing
I hate.” The church at Pergamos was guilty of
fellowshipping with unbelievers, which is against the teachings
of Christ, 2 Corinthians 6:14: “Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship
hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath
light with darkness?”
Revelation 2:16: “Repent; or else I will come unto thee
quickly,” [In order for them to repent they would have had to
follow
Romans 16:17-18 and
Matthew 18:7-9.] “and will fight against them with the sword of my
mouth.” Christ will rise up those that refuse to repent and
fight against them when he returns. The sword that proceeds out
of Christ mouth (See Revelation 1:16),
represents the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God
Revelation 14:18-20 and Revelation 19:15,
and the fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries of
Christ, see Hebrews 10:25-27.
Revelation 2:17: “He"
[That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High]
"that hath an ear,"
[Understanding] "let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches; To him" [The men] "that overcometh will I give to eat of the
hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone
a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that
receiveth it.”
Although the above statements were made to the angel/leader of
the church of Pergamos, they are warnings to the seven churches
in Asia. Likewise, the promises are for the 144,000/Servants of
God/Saints of the Most High.
The Church of Thyatira
Revelation 2:18: “And unto the angel"
[Messenger/leader]
"of
the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God,
who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are
like fine brass;” Christ, see Revelation 1:14-15.
Revelation 2:19: “I" [Christ] "know thy works, and charity, and service,
and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be
more than the first.”
Revelation 2:20: “Notwithstanding I" [Christ]
"have a few
things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel,
which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach” [See
1 Timothy 2:11, 13-14] “and to seduce my servants to commit
fornication,” [See Romans 16:17 and
1 Corinthians 5:11-13.]
“and
to eat things sacrificed unto idols.”
Revelation 2:21: “And I" [Christ]
"gave her space to repent of her
fornication; and she repented not.” Jezebel refused to repent
while repentance was open to her.
Revelation 2:22: “Behold, I" [Christ] "will cast
her into a bed,” [The Lord punished Jezebel with a serious
disease] “and them that commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.” Those who
committed adultery, by following Jezebel’s teachings will be
destroyed if they don’t repent.
Revelation 2:23: “And I"
[Christ] "will kill her”
[Jezebel’s]
“children
with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which
searcheth the reins and hearts:" [The Lord searches everyone
heart/mind to see if they are going to stray from the teachings
of Christ] "and I will give unto every one of you according to
your works.”
Revelation 2:24: “But unto you" [The
leader/angel/messenger of the Thyatira] "I say, and unto the
rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which
have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak;”
[Jezebel taught doctrine contrary to Christ] “I will put upon
you none other burden.” Trouble, example, burdens put upon
Jezebel, her followers, and her children.
Revelation 2:25:
“But that which ye
have already” [The teachings of Christ, the book of
Revelation and faith]
“hold fast till I come.” The faithful followers of
Christ, the Servants of God, will be brought back in the
last day.
Revelation 2:26: “And he" [That
is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High] "that overcometh,”
[The wickedness in the church of Thyatira]
“and keepeth my" [Christ]
"works unto the end,” [Of their lives] “to him"
[That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High] "will I" [Christ] "give power over the nations:”
Revelation 2:27: “And he" [That is of the
144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High] "shall rule them" [The nations] "with a rod of iron; as the
vessels of a potter shall they" [The nations] "be broken to shivers: even as I"
[Christ] "received of my Father.” The reward for the
faithful men, the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most
High, is
power over the nations see,

Revelation 2:28:
“And I will
give him" [That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of
the Most High] "the morning star.” See 2 Peter 1:19.

“He" [That is of the 144,000/Servants of
God/Saints of the Most High] "that hath an ear,"
[Understanding] "let him"
[That is of the 144,000/Servants of God/Saints of the Most High]
"hear what the Spirit" [Christ] "saith unto the
churches.”
