John 8:42-47

John 8:42: "Jesus said unto them," [Unbelieving Jews] "If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me."


John 8:43: "Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word."


John 8:44: "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."


John 8:45: "And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not."


John 8:46: "Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?"


John 8:47: "He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God."




1 John 3:7-11

1 John 3:7: "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness" [Believe in Christ] "is righteous, even as he is righteous."


1 John 3:8: "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."


1 John 3:9: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."


1 John 3:10: "In this the children of God" [The followers of Christ] "are manifest, and the children of the devil:" [The unbelievers] "whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."


1 John 3:11: "For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another."
